Contingency Planning Working Group

The emergency and contingency planning environment is complex, with the involvement of many different stakeholders and legislation, in addition to local, regional, national, and international initiatives. Framed in the context of geopolitical instability, the contingency planning working group creates a shared understanding of contingency and emergency planning to form a basis for working together to achieve improved response and resilience.

Objectives

  1. To provide a forum for sharing the knowledge and experiences of EBA members so all can move toward best practice in contingency planning
  2. To coordinate with other stakeholders in Contingency planning activities on behalf of all EBA Members
  3. To coordinate EBA input to the Contingency and Emergency Planning content of the EDQM Blood Guide
  4. To share experience, documentation, risk and other relevant materials and identify common training needs and opportunities
  5. To identify opportunities for mutual aid in contingency and emergency planning processes, including potential bilateral or multilateral mutual aid arrangements.
  6. To engage with and lead the conversation on contingency and emergency planning with commission and competent authorities to ensure a workable and consistent approach across EBA member states
