Convalescent Plasma Recommendations for Future Pandemics

This SUPPORT-E Work Package 5 report presents evidence-based recommendations for the collection and use of convalescent plasma (CP) during future pandemics. It reviews clinical trial evidence on COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP), health economics, plasma collection and antibody testing, and assesses lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. The report includes six key recommendations covering pandemic funding, data collection, systematic reviews, plasma collection, testing and clinical trials. It also outlines guidance on CCP use for immunocompromised patients and strategies to strengthen preparedness for future outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 and other novel pathogens.
