Rare Blood Provision Workshop 2025

Co-organised by the European Blood Alliance and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), kindly hosted by Osakidetza, the Basque Center for Transfusion and Human Tissue.

The Rare Blood Provision Workshop returns for its third edition – and this year marks the first time it is co-organised by EBA and ISBT. This collaboration brings together professionals from across public and non-profit blood establishments to exchange experience, insight, and practical approaches to shared challenges in rare blood provision.

What to Expect

• Real-world case studies and expert-led sessions on testing strategies, HLA/HPA-typed platelets, international exchange, and cryopreservation
• Breakout discussions and interactive panels for in-person participants
• Access to main sessions and panel discussions for online attendees via Zoom
• Optional site visits to the Centro Vasco de Transfusión y Tejidos Humanos
• A private guided visit and dinner at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao

Who Should Attend
The workshop is open to staff from public and non-profit blood establishments, or professionals working in rare blood provision.
