The EBA Workshop on Rare Blood Provision is back and ready to take the stage on April 19-21, 2023 in Filton, UK (physical event only). Graciously hosted by the NHS Blood and Transplant, this workshop will bring together experts in the field to delve into the vital topics of donor management, genotyping and test strategies, HLA/HPA platelets, and the national and international support of rare blood. Join us for a combination of engaging presentations and interactive discussion groups that will leave you inspired and informed.
Session 1: Donor Management – Explore the criteria of regular donors versus rare donors and discuss a case study presentation that highlights the challenges of managing a patient needing rare blood.
Session 2: Genotyping and Test Strategies – Learn about the latest advancements in blood group typing and explore the ethical, legal, and privacy issues surrounding genotyping data.
Session 3: HLA HPA Platelets – Discover the latest developments in HLA HPA platelets and learn how to effectively manage the provision of these important resources.
Session 4: National and international support of rare blood – Learn about the national rare blood programme in France and engage with EDQM on their rare blood database.
This is a closed workshop, open only to Blood Establishment staff (EBA members or ISBT Working Party on Rare Donors).
N.B. If you are not Blood Establishment staff, your registration will not be approved and be given a partial refund back. If you are not sure, please contact EBA office before registering.
