The EBA Benchmarking Workshop 2025 Amsterdam brings EBA members together on 12–13 November to focus on automation in blood services. Expect practical case studies, a keynote, hands-on sessions, and Sanquin facility visits. This annual Benchmarking Workshop is supported by the EBA Benchmarking Working Group and this year is hosted by EBA Member Sanquin.

• Keynote: Demand trends for erythrocytes and thrombocytes in the Netherlands – Sanquin Medical Director.
• Sanquin automation projects: MAK.Care and e-donation forms.
• Benchmarking Scorecard 2024–25: Results, insights, and next steps.
• Practical case studies:
  • NHSBT’s digital health-check.
  • Power-outage response and continuity lessons from Portugal and Spain.
• Interactive sessions: group feedback and two workshop exercises to translate insights into actions.

Exclusive Sanquin facility visits (Day 1)

Participants will visit Sanquin’s collection and production facilities and the NSS laboratory in Amsterdam (plus a mobile collection), with guided tours and Q&A. This behind-the-scenes access is consistently one of the most valued parts of the workshop.
