EBA Actions on the Ukrainian crisis

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has had a devastating impact on Ukrainians in the country and those fleeing to neighbouring countries. The European Blood Alliance fully supports the EU and its international partners’ humanitarian responses in Ukraine, neighbouring EU Member States, and Moldova.

EBA has coordinated with the following to ensure the availability of accurate and up-to-date information on both blood system needs in Ukraine and how EBA members and observers can best provide support:

• the ERCC (Emergency Response Coordination Centre) of DG ECHO (the European Commission’s Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations)
• the DG SANTE Stakeholders Network “Supporting Ukraine, neighbouring EU Member States and Moldova”
• EDQM
• The WHO Health Emergencies Program

We will continue liaising with the relevant authorities and supporting our members in their efforts to help Ukrainians in their country and where they have taken refuge.
