EBA is searching for an Executive Director to oversee EBA operations, functions and activities.
European Blood Alliance (EBA)
The European Blood Alliance is a voluntary association of blood services currently in 26 European countries, representing 17 million blood donations annually, and has a budget of about €500,000. The Alliance is registered in the Netherlands and its office is in Brussels, Belgium.
The MISSION of the EBA is to contribute to the safety, quality, availability and cost effectiveness of the blood and tissue supply for the citizens of Europe by developing and maintaining an efficient and strong collaboration amongst European blood and tissue services.
The Alliance has four strategic objectives: to promote voluntary non-remunerated donations (VNRD) of blood and blood components and self-sufficiency from VNRD; to improve performance through collaboration; to support national and European authorities to promote best practice and; to facilitate information collection and knowledge exchange. These objectives include maintaining contacts with the EU institutions, the Council of Europe, the World Health Organisation and European and international Transfusion Medicine organizations.
EBA is searching for an Executive Director to oversee EBA operations, functions and activities.
Staff comprises currently of an administration and project officer, an advocacy officer and a project manager, in addition to the executive director. A medical director (part-time) will join the staff in January 2022.

The Executive director is responsible for the EBA day to day affairs and is accountable to the EBA President
Person specification
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate achievements in leadership positions, must be able to demonstrate the ability to build organisational capacity for a membership organisation, and preferably be conversant with content knowledge of blood banking activities. A record of accomplishment in networking and interacting with EU bodies is a bonus.
